A 2009 vintage single cask whisky from Benriach. This peated Speyside single malt was distilled in 2009 and matured in a single port pipe for 11 years before being bottled in 2020 at a robust cask strength of 60.8% abv. There’s a lovely rich smoke here with great sweetness from it’s time in the port pipe. Aromas of honeyed fruit syrup and smoked strawberry panna cotta are complemented by a palate of wild berry, spiced orange and chocolate velvet cake flavours. An intriguing cask strength whisky that is one of 836 bottles.
