Glentauchers is a Speyside hidden gem with a rich and fruity new make spirit. This 14 year old release by Chorlton Whisky was aged in a refill sherry butt before bottling at a great cask strength of 61.1% abv.Ā
A very elegant and cakey whisky with the refill sherry adding a gentle richness to the underlying fruit spirit. There are layers of honey, stone fruits, yellow flowers and a malty development with flapjacks, chocolate brownie, and golden sultanas in the aftertaste.Ā
The cask produced just 610 bottles.Ā
